About Us
Built for the
complexity of M&A.
Jaya Advisory was founded by practitioners who saw a consistent gap in Malaysian M&A: acquirers and sellers who needed rigorous commercial advisory, not more financial or legal process.
Back to HomeOur Story
Founded on the conviction that commercial advice matters most.
Jaya Advisory was established by a team of former investment professionals and strategy consultants who had observed, from multiple vantage points, how transactions succeed or fail on commercial grounds — not financial or legal ones. A business can be financially sound and legally documented and still represent a poor acquisition if the commercial fundamentals are not properly understood.
We built an advisory practice specifically to address that gap. Our engagements are designed to provide the commercial perspective that deal teams need: clear, honest, and delivered within the constraints of live transaction timelines.
Our practice is based in Petaling Jaya and works with clients across Malaysia. We work on a manageable number of engagements at any given time, which allows us to give each client's transaction the attention it deserves.
Our Mission
To provide independent, commercially grounded advisory that helps Malaysian acquirers and sellers understand what they are entering — and how to realise its potential.
Our Values
- Analytical integrity — We present our findings honestly, including when they are uncomfortable for the client.
- Practical focus — We prioritise the insights that are decision-relevant, not comprehensive for its own sake.
- Discretion — We understand the sensitivity of M&A and maintain appropriate confidentiality at all times.
Our Approach
Each engagement begins with a scoping conversation — we take time to understand the transaction, the client's position, and what the advisory needs to achieve. Deliverables are agreed upfront, as are timelines and fees.
The People
Practitioners, not generalists.
Our team members have worked on M&A transactions directly — in deal teams, in portfolio companies, and in strategy roles — before moving into advisory practice.

Our Standards
How we work.
Confidentiality as Standard
Confidentiality agreements are put in place at the outset of every engagement. Transaction details are shared within the team on a need-to-know basis only.
Defined Scope, Fixed Fee
Engagement scope, deliverables, and fees are agreed in writing before work begins. Clients have certainty over what they will receive and what it will cost.
Senior Involvement Throughout
Senior advisors are involved from scoping through delivery. We do not delegate the substance of our advisory to junior team members.
Delivery Within Deal Timelines
We understand that M&A has its own cadence. Our work is scoped and staffed to meet the timeline of the transaction, not the other way around.
Evidence-Based Assessment
Our conclusions are grounded in data, customer and market evidence, and structured analysis — not assumption or general industry knowledge.
Compliance with Malaysian Law
All advisory activities are conducted in compliance with applicable Malaysian commercial and data protection regulations, including PDPA 2010.
M&A advisory for the Malaysian market.
Malaysia's M&A landscape has developed considerably over the past decade. Domestic consolidation across manufacturing, healthcare, consumer, and professional services has increased the number of transactions involving mid-market Malaysian businesses — and with it, the demand for advisory that understands the commercial reality of operating in this market.
Jaya Advisory works specifically in this context. Our team's experience with Malaysian businesses — their ownership structures, the dynamics of key industries, the regulatory environment, and the cultural dimensions of transactions — informs the quality of our commercial analysis and the practical relevance of our advice.
Whether you are acquiring a business for the first time, working through the process of selling, or facing the challenge of bringing two organisations together after a transaction closes, the quality of commercial advisory you receive at each stage will affect the outcome. Jaya Advisory exists to improve that quality.
